review O by Cirque du Soleil

About the show

I genuinely went from “O” to “WOW!” after watching the show. No cap!

It has been on the must-see list of Cirque du Soleil shows for years, “O” is famous not because of its brilliant plot but because of its unusual thematic beauty and crazy creativity. At first, I expected some mind-blowing storyline with colorful martial arts as in other Cirque du Soleil shows. But “O” was just… different!

“O” is not the O as in the English language; it is pronounced as “eau”-”water” in French. And the show lives up to its name. Like the flexibility of water, “O” stands for countless possibilities of life and humans, birth and rebirth, beginning and closure, and, at last, transformation.

Without any particular plot and theme, “O” revolves around water. The whole stage is a 1.5 million-gallon pool, where all the air and water performances take place.

If you seek to enjoy an outstanding and fabulous show while in Vegas, “O” is the perfect match. I’m sure it will elevate your experience to a whole new level.

What we like

Dreamlike experience. I’ve got to admit it, “O” is like a painting that moves. It is completely poetic and lyrical. It is not a scene that you can witness on a daily basis. No exaggeration to say that other guests and I were all in awe while watching the show.
Worth every penny. While most of the other Cirque du Soleil shows are being rated as expensive, most viewers agree that “O” is worth their time and money.
Seamless performance. Despite the fact that the whole show takes place around and inside a giant pool, every twist and turn is smooth and natural, and most people are not sure how the performers can nail it.

Reviews of O show
“Years waiting to go to a Cirque do soleil show and now I want to go to every show they have, it was one of the most amazing show I’ve seen in my life, I hope it stays forever, I’ll repeat when I come to Vegas again” – The reviewer

What we don’t like

Lack of a clear plot. As mentioned above, “O” is not packed with any particular, not to mention deep storyline. Everything about the show is about the concept of water. I mean, the acrobatic dance moves are amazing, but I saw tons of viewers get bored of it halfway through.

Dull music. Compared to other Cirque du Soleil shows, the music in “O” is kinda… plain. It somehow lacks the excitement that entices every nerve in my brain to concentrate on the show.

Is O by Cirque du Soleil worth watching?

Yes, it earned the title of a must-see show in Vegas for good reasons.

There are not many, if not none, shows like “O” that are really well-constructed and well-performed in Vegas. The giant aquatic stage, professional actors and actresses, and seamless performances between the air and the water make “O” a unique experience, unlike any other Cirque du Soleil show.

Do not hesitate to put “O” on your bucket list when visiting Vegas. It will grant you a moment to remember for a long time.

Is O by Cirque du Soleil family friendly?

When are you opting for “O” in Vegas? Please make sure to leave your under-5-year-old at home because the show does come with an age restriction:

  • Children under the age of 5 are not allowed inside the theater because the show contains loud sounds and flashing lights that may harm or frighten children.
