About the show

Bill Burr is known as a hard-working and persistent comedian who gained lots of recognition over his career. He has an unmatched style of comedy, combining unflinching honesty, witty insights, sharp social commentary, and connecting crowd ability.

I give him a thumbs up, as he used both relatable and absurd experiences to deliver funny moments at his own comedic rhythm. His rants started from simple observation and developed into hilarious tirades. The topics were various, from his own life to larger societal concerns.

What I admire about Bill is his unapologetic way of performing on the stage. It seems he doesn’t care what people think about him but does his best to get his job done. Bill Burr is the one who is not afraid to push boundaries and to address complex (and sensitive) topics head-on.

Yet, note that his jokes are not preachy or overly cynical, creating a unique, captivating comedy show. Bill’s distinct humor and unparalleled improvisational skill allow him to tackle sensitive issues in a funny way.

Wanna feel Bill Burr’s special vibe? Buy a ticket and give yourself a chance to explore how he kills the show with his quick wit and intellectual undercurrent!

What we like

  • Elegant rants on various topics: Bill Burr knows how to create layers of criticisms on a wide range of issues, including marriage, modern culture, and political correctness. I think he has quite broad knowledge of each aspect and explores its absurdities thoroughly to turn them into elegant rants through his sharp tongue and bold opinions.
  • Quite clean content, conversational style, and act: I can see he tried his best to keep his show away from gratuitous profanity (though, for some audiences, he might fail, sometimes). I like his conventional delivery and casual style. His show is no longer a performance but a chat with a friend.
  • Bill’s improv and dialogue with the audience: Bill riffed off his audience by his improvisation. Without following a performing routine but having conversations with the crowd, he made every situation that happened on the stands become comedic gold.

What we don’t like

  • Jokes about transgenders and some caustic topics may not be for everybody. I still prefer clean jokes without mocking anybody. Stand-up comedy is for having blasting moments but not pinching people’s nerves.
  • The security is too strict, causing a slow entry process. If you see a line of people waiting to enter the event, you may want to give up. I know the rule is the rule, but the process for everybody to put their electronic devices into the pouch takes too long. Plus, it’s really a distraction for others when security spotted somebody using their phone and came to them during the performance.
  • No recording is allowed, which means the performer can say whatever he wants. I actually realized this fact is more serious than I thought. I know it’s democracy and free public speaking, but it does not mean that offending people is allowed. But without recording, the performer might have gone on with his own thoughts without caring about the feelings of the audience.

Is Bill Burr Worth Watching?

If you want to see Bill Burr in person, go ahead. But he’s still far away from being a successful stand-up comedian, as he sometimes ventured into unrelatable jokes, which left the audience in dull moments. I’d say he’s better as a podcaster.

Aim at the center and front row if you want to see Bill Burr closer. But for me, any row, even the balcony area, is fine.

The ticket price starts at $69 plus tax and fees. So, it all depends on your budget.

Where to see the show

Attend the show at:

Dolby Live, Park MGM Las Vegas

3770 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109, United States

How To Get There

You can choose these bus lines to go to Dolby Live:

  • 119, 119 Simmons / Koval Southbound
  • 201, 201 Tropicana Westbound
  • DEUCE, Deuce on the Strip Southbound

There are nearby stations within walking distance:

  • Wb Tropicana After Koval (8 min walk)
  • Nb Las Vegas at Polo Towers (13 min walk)

Monorail LVM also can take you to the destination. But I don’t suggest you take this option as the nearest monorail station is Las Vegas Convention Center Station, which takes nearly 1 hour walking.

If you don’t know the road so well, the easiest way to Dolby Live is to take an Uber taxi. The price may be high, but it can help you reach the place without issues.
