As a lifelong fan of stand-up comedy, I enjoy Comedy Cellar because it brings that New York comedy vibe right to the heart of Las Vegas. If you are looking for a place to spend the night filled with laughter, you know where to go.

About the show

Word is going around that Comedy Cellar is not just a show–it is an experience. So when I heard that Comedy Cellar had brought its stand-up show to Las Vegas, I swiftly decided to check it out as soon as possible.

Like other comedy shows in Las Vegas, Comedy Cellar features a different lineup for each night. Expect to see rising stars as well as headliners in the comedy industry. It is not an exaggeration to say that the Comedy Cellar is like a buffet; you will never know what you are going to get (unless you look up the list of comedians for the show beforehand).

However, what impressed me the most about Comedy Cellar was the way they let their comedians freely choose their styles and topics to perform. Thanks to this, there was not a single dull moment when I was there. I laughed so much that my sides hurt.

I won’t spoil everything about this New York specialty right in the heart of Las Vegas. It’s worth your time, I promise. So off, the hilarious Comedy Cellar we go.

What we like

  • Close-knit setup. The intimate setting inside the venue maximizes the impact of each performance. I sat in a far row in the back but still got a chance to engage in the show, which was a nice experience.
  • Diverse lineup. The rotation of comedians for each night offers fresh and surprising entertainment, even for repeat guests who had been here the night before.
  • New York humor. Comedy Cellar is perfect for those who are into raw, unfiltered humor or like being roasted by the comedian.

What we don’t like

  • Not suitable for fragile souls. As mentioned above, at Comedy Cellar, the chance of you being roasted by the comedian on stage is rather high. Or the kind of humor they practice here is too strong to your liking. If you are one who is easily offended, this show is not for you.
  • Off-the-Strip location. The venue is a bit far from the main Strip, which can make non-locals hesitate to choose the show as they are not familiar with the directions to Las Vegas.

Is Comedy Cellar worth watching?

Yes, Comedy Cellar is totally worth watching. In fact, I wouldn’t hesitate to list it on the must-visit list for hardcore comedy lovers who are looking for a raw and authentic New York stand-up experience. Comedy Cellar is a night out of laughter and entertainment that is soooo hard to forget once you’re back home.

Some random moments about the comedy cellar show:

Where is best to sit when seeing Comedy Cellar?

The prices I mentioned below are just for reference. Whenever you want to attend Comedy Cellar, you will have to check the ticketing site.

The farthest section from the stage is the General admission section, which costs around $25. The middle section is the Preferred section, which is around $31. The VIP section is located nearest to the stage. A ticket would cost you around $37.

Thanks to the setup, every seat can offer a nice view of the stage. My advice is to choose any seat in the preferred section, as I have heard tons of comments about how their necks hurt when sitting in the VIP seats.
