About The Show

Jim Gaffigan is a master of family humor and internal dialogue. His comic legend started when he was on the stage in the 1990s with his family-centric humor.

During his career, Jim has earned 2 Grammy Awards and multiple Emmy nominations. He’s well-known for the incorporation of physical comedy and his signature internal dialogue in the show. And he didn’t disappoint me in the show.

Gaffigan’s punchlines always drew the audience’s attention. His physical comedy was the great combination of his words and body, creating a hilarious, memorable rhythm.

The performer really knows how to turn a good joke into a great one. His over-the-top body language and playful exaggeration made the audience laugh so hard.

I was impressed by how he acted the bacon to show his love for it: the sizzling sound he made or his exhausting act out while eating the bacon, just like he’s running a marathon. It was such a funny performance!

But wait, that’s not all about Jim! The real magic lies in his internal dialogue, making him a genius comedian.

He usually had an argument with himself (I mean, on the stage). One moment, he used a soft voice to mimic an inner thought, and the next moment, he spoke in a louder and more exaggerated way to “combat” himself.
Jim’s interplay between voices adds a brilliant layer to his self-deprecating jokes. Get a ticket and explore it yourself!

What We Like

  • Memorable jokes: I think many people should agree with me on this. After listening to Graddigan’s jokes, these punchlines can keep sticking in your head. Whoever has heard of the “Hot Pocket” microwave snack would not forget this iconic bit.
  • No filthy, no crude: I can say that it’s the best part of his show. It’s also what makes Gaffigan different from most of the comedians nowadays. I value all of his jokes that make me laugh into tears without foul language.
  • New materials on classic family-friendly topics: Jim’s devotion to his job is undeniable. I see how he tried to come up with new angles on a topic. It can be parent and non-parent universal experiences, from household chores to little annoyances in life.

What We Don’t Like

  • Late show-up and short performance: It’s what I don’t like the most in this show. The audience came to see the performer, and he let people wait nearly 30 minutes. I guess you know how the excitement and patience are slowly gone in this situation.
  • Jim’s occasional weariness: It is so sad to say this, but it looks like Jim forced himself too much sometimes. It really dampened the mood of the audience.

Is Jim Gaffigan Worth Watching?

If you’re not a picky person, it’s worth spending time attending the Jim Gaffigan show. However, if you require longer and more hilarious rants, it may not be the proper choice for you. For me, I’ll give it another shot if I have a chance because he doesn’t seem to repeat the same old jokes as many other comedians.

The theater consists of 2 areas: the Orchestra (closer to the stage) and the Mezzanine (further to the stage). Each is divided into Center, Right, and Left.
