About The Show

Sebastian Maniscalco has a talent for delivering sharp, observational humor in an energetic way.

What makes him special is that everybody can realize a person they’ve grown up with or met in his materials. The comedian is good at observing people and situations and concludes them into hilarious jokes that have audiences laugh in tears.

He can turn anything you encounter in your life, such as the coincident meeting with strangers, an awkward dinner with your in-law, or people’s annoying behavior in public, into comedic gold moments.

His jokes are all about daily experiences, yet audiences can’t help but laugh. To do so, Sebastian needs more talent than just finding humor in the most mundane stuff.

What I’m talking about is his exaggerated physicality. Maniscalco’s performance becomes alive because he not only tells jokes but also performs them.

The comedian’s facial expression, body movements, and gestures amplify his humor. His entire body was like an instrument enhancing the punchlines, and his exaggerated performing style made my stomach hurt from laughing too much.

I also like the way he makes fun of himself. Sebastian’s self-deprecating humor is his personal charm that makes his jokes more relatable and spot-on.

One last thing I want to mention is that the moment when Sebastian Maniscalco steps out can make you forget about stand-up comedy. It’s because of his stage presence.

You can think that he’s a magician, a hairstylist, or even a model. What I mean is that he’s a man on stage who shows respect to audiences by caring about small details of his appearance.

What We Like

  • Performer’s humor and energy: I admire Maniscalco for his unique approach to physical comedy. He’s talented at making various facial expressions and exaggerated gestures and using body language to build hilarious moments. His energy lights up the stage. I found the contagious atmosphere that he created hard to refuse.
  • The show does not only include jokes about Italian American culture. What I like about Sebastian is that his show is for everybody. Despite his Italian background, his jokes are not only about this topic and its related stuff. Anybody who does not have Italian American heritage, like me, can still enjoy his performance.
  • Intimate atmosphere: The performer is a master of reading the room. He used his observation and improvisation to set up a close connection with the crowd. I personally enjoy the sense of “camaraderie” created by Sebastian, which makes the audience more relaxed and engaged.

What We Don’t Like

  • Repetitive material: I heard this complaint from many audiences. Since they’ve come to many of his shows, they have seen the same material a few times. But it’s not a big deal if you’re new to the show like me.
  • Predictable jokes: As mentioned above, Sebastian used quite a lot of recycled content, making punchlines familiar and predictable. His trademark bits are funny, yet they are not enough for somebody who looks for unexpected turns or new twists in his performance.
  • Uncomfortable seat for long sitting time: I don’t like the feeling that I can easily touch the arm of the one who is sitting next to me. It’s kind of awkward and distracting. Plus, the chairs are quite cramped, creating an uncomfortable experience, especially for big people.

Is Sebastian Maniscalco Worth Watching?

It’s a great show for first-timers, but if you ask for my suggestion, then I would say No. The show is amusing but not really a “wow.” You can watch him on TV and spend money on another Vegas show instead.

Children under 12 years old are not allowed. Guests from 12 to 18 years old must have an adult accompany them.

How Long Is The Show?

The show is 1 hour and 30 minutes long.

Ticket prices range from $55 to $ 395. The nearer to the stage and the more central the seat is, the more expensive.
The front section, Orchestra, has a starting ticket price of $100. I suggest you aim for the Center area instead of Left and Right.
