Tape Face is performed at 7:30 PM almost every day. For the exact schedule, please check with the ticketing site.
Have the name bugged you a little bit? Well, it did make me feel a bit creeped out the first time I heard about it. But I assure you that by the end of the article, you’ll know exactly why it’s one of the must-see shows in Las Vegas.
About the show
As someone who loves quirky and thrilling performances, I was so excited when I booked the ticket to Tape Face. However, at first, I honestly didn’t know what to expect from a silent comedian with everyday items as props to entertain people.
But Tape Face nailed it! It went beyond my expectations or anything I had imagined–in the coolest way possible. How can someone who doesn’t speak so funny?
Tape Face delivers an amazing performance by offering a unique laughter experience without saying a single word. Who says words have the power to move one’s soul? I’m saying that Sam Wills moves the crowd’s moods up and down without any word at all. His show is the perfect example to prove that comedy doesn’t always need wordplay, punch lines, and so on; sometimes, all it takes is charisma, creativity, and a bit of good-quality tape.
To me, what makes Tape Face stand out from other silent comedy shows is the way Sam Wills connects with the audience through his silent yet expressive acts.
In Tape Face, there is always something for everyone–whether you are into mime, clever improvisation, or just want to enjoy something different from the usual comedy shows in Las Vegas.
Spoiling all the hilarious and surprising moments in Tape Face might sound tempting. But I really recommend you buy a ticket and enjoy the silence of Tape Face for yourself!
What we like
A nice break from other conventional comedy shows. Everyone knows that there are countless comedy shows in Las Vegas, from Hollywood-famous performers to a rising star who just came here thanks to some luck. But Tape Face offers something really fresh and impressive. His silence and prop-based comedy is so enchanting and fun, creating a night to remember.
Audience participation. Trust me when I say that Tape Face takes the term “audience participation” seriously and elevates it to the next level. Almost everyone in the show is involved in the performance, which is always fun and never feels forced at all.
Pure talent. It is no exaggeration to say that Sam Wills is the master at communicating with his body language. I, personally, have never seen a comedian who can be so funny by just opening his eyes. This is just pure talent and creative performance.
What we don’t like
- Possibility of attending an impersonator’s show. The sad truth is that Sam Wills doesn’t always perform at the Tape Face. Sometimes, it is just an impersonator. So, check with the ticketing site before booking your ticket if you want to see Sam Wills, not someone else.
- Mime is not for everyone. Many people still prefer traditional stand-up comedy. Tape Face is suited for people who can appreciate the silence and the humor behind it.
Is Tape Face worth watching?
Yes, Tape Face is perfect for you if you are looking for something unique and different from the usual Las Vegas comedy shows.
Very few shows manage to combine silent comedy and audience interaction so seamlessly. Sam Wills’s performance is the beacon of fresh air in the Las Vegas entertainment industry. If you are in Vegas and want to try something new, Tape Face is a show you should not miss out on.
Is Tape Face family-friendly?
Yes, Tape Face is suitable for all ages. There are no age restrictions, so you can feel free to bring your kids along. However, there are some restrictions as below:
- Kids under 3 years old are admitted as a lap seat and, therefore, don’t need a ticket
- Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Where to sit when seeing Tape Face?
The prices of seats might vary from time to time. The prices I mentioned below are for reference only. You should check with the ticketing site for the exact price.
The two front rows are in the VIP section, which costs around $84 per ticket. The next four rows are in category B; a ticket costs $55. The most budget-friendly options are in the last rows, which are category C; the price is around $43.
The theater is a small room, so all the seats can give you a good view of the stage. If you want to interact more with the show, pick the VIP section or any seat in category B. If not, category C is also a not-bad option.
